This week’s been another good’un. I went home for the first half of it, and was spoilt, as always in the food and drink stakes. My grandparents took me to Cote Brasserie and my parents took me to La Grillado, a new Italian in Salisbury. I also made up for the constant eating out through doubling the exercise, by doing a daily Insanity and cross trainer workout every day. Consequently, my legs now hurt. A lot.
I saw quite a few friends too, I visited Hayley in Ringwood and still can’t quite get over how expensive public transport is! And for such uncomfortable seating as well! £8 for a 30 minute return journey – absolutely crazy. I also had a blind moment of panic when I thought I’d lost my ticket too, meaning another £6 to be added to the already ridiculously costing journey. I made Lucy endure an Insanity workout with me on Tuesday (which was pretty hilarious) and we rewarded ourselves with a stir fry feast, and then let the work-out go to pot with our steamed syrup sponges and custard for pudding. Steph also visited the pub for acoustic night which was a lot of fun, but too indulgent in the food stakes but you just can’t say no to oven baked camembert and sticky toffee pudding, can you?!
I didn’t work that much this week so I made the most of my free time: I made a surprisingly tasty wholemeal pizza, learnt a lot of Italian and did some research for my upcoming trip to Italy. It’s not long left and if I stop and think about it long enough, my heart does start to thud! I’ve also been enjoying the Winter Olympics but I really can’t get my head around curling, but I am loving the figure skating and ski/snowboard racing.
My parents came to the pub on Saturday night which was lovely. They had the long awaited nachos that I’ve been constantly raving about, “better than America” apparently – quite a claim I say! I worked a long Sunday shift, and then Ben took me to see the Penguin Café at the Union Chapel in Islington. A combination of percussion, string and piano, the Penguin Café made quite a unique sound – I’d definitely recommend them.
So, next week – what’s on the agenda? I’ll be making more pizza, upping the Italian and hopefully attending a Crowd-funding event. Oh, and as usual, trying out a couple of restaurants!
