Well, the inevitable has officially happened, after three weeks of little sleep and, perhaps enhanced by a Saturday evening of drinking and dancing, I have lost my voice. But, there won’t be any moaning besides maybe a little about everyone’s lack of sympathy and Ben making me work on Sunday, as (with the exception of the lost of voice) it was a pretty darn good week.
I went home for a couple of days and retrieved my pizza stone which made such a difference to the pizza I cooked this week. Also, due to a fuller wardrobe, I’ll also be seen looking differently more often rather than having the same outfits on 3 – 4 day rotations! I worked quite a few shifts this week, and saw a lot of friends. Becca cooked me vegetarian lasagne, and I didn’t even notice the lack of meat and I made a pork shoulder with lentils recipe. Oh, and although Matt outdid me about a billion percent on the cake front, I did make some delicious brownies which we sold in the bar!
This week saw two more sessions of pizza research. Thursday’s trip to HomeSlice was a particular highlight, but then I’m still wondering whether it was the drunken hunger that made it taste so good. Another trip is in order I feel. Pizza Union near Liverpool Street had a pretty cool, ‘superfast’ concept, but the taste let it down. However, for only £3.95 for a margherita, you can’t really complain. I’m still not getting sick of pizza, I’m starting to wonder how much longer it’ll be until I do.
Lucy and Steph came to visit me at the pub too! I felt almost proud of the Village, claiming that they’ll feel part of the family and they agreed, over a humongous plate of Matt’s nachos, that they loved it as much I do. We went to a bar in Angel, and then a cheesy boogy at Club de Fromage. I had to call it a night early as I felt like I’d hit a brick wall and my throat had completely seized up, signalling it was time to stop caterwauling to ‘Spice up your life’ and say goodnight. We spent a small fortune in getting home, but half a brownie and a bowl full of custard later, and any thought of money was well and truly forgotten. Ah drunken food is so good!
Sunday’s shift at work was just terrible. I couldn’t speak, I even wore a sticker saying ‘can’t talk’ so people didn’t think I was rude. The shift was probably among the most painful I’ve ever had in the history of part time work and I got no sympathy because it tied in perfectly with being ‘hungover’. Anyway, let’s start this week with a smile – tomorrow I’m going to an entrepeneur/investor networking event which is pretty exciting, I just hope they don’t mind the oh so sexy Phil Mitchell does Kermit voice.

Things got desperate…
Catch up next week, when hopefully I sound and feel like Victoria again!
